The reasoning for monitoring a structure for movement can take a variety of forms but is primarily for construction adjacent to existing buildings or monitoring the construction itself.

The accuracy required for setting out a construction project or undertaking a topographical or measured building survey ensures the service provided gives confidence that any abnormal movement is identified and notified in accordance with the specification.
