This event was a major catalyst for the innovation of Smart Structural Health Monitoring (SHM).
#SHM provides dynamic/real-time monitoring and movement information of structures and buildings to provide early warnings and precise analysis of change or decay. Early decisions can be made for repair intervention or closure for public safety.
With our ageing bridge infrastructure, it is essential that preventative measures are put in place to monitor in real time with trigger alarms and ongoing data comparison.
